did a bit more digging, sounds like the Grainfather 70L is gonna come to the US market at about $1800. pretty stiff price point when the brewzilla 65L is about $700. The brewtools 80 is about the same price and seems to be a bit more robust. but I'm no authority
So I just discovered the brewing forum.......

Check out Short Circuit Brewer and Hop Rod Garage on YouTube. Pretty sure they reviewed all of those and talk about the pros and cons.

Or you end up paying for a bunch of features you will never use.
The BrewTools does look sweet but I bet that Brewzilla will be good. I like the price too and it can hold up to 35# of grain so yo are looking at an 11g batch of 8% beer.
If I did not have the system I have I would be looking at one of these.

true enough - I was thinking these were similar feature wise but I guess they are not.

I'm glad this came up...have been thinking about investing in an all in one electric system. There's a ton out there. Hoping to figure it out by Black Friday & score a deal (gotta be under $1000.) Or Armaugh's Grainfather...

I admit that the brewtools rig looks really damn cool. short circuit reviewed it, he had several self-induced problems with that, said it took a bit of time to get up the learning curve on that. he admitted it was his own fault and not a problem with the rig.
part of me would like to just get a traditional horizontal from someone like Spike Brewing or such, but that is substantially more $$, probably 5k+, and a substantially bigger footprint in the brewhouse.

Don’t forget to leave some budget for the still. Don’t want to skimp there

YepI looked quickly because I knew they had a large one, is that 240v?
Nothing wrong with that setup. I have maybe 5 high tech systems and I still use my cooler more than any of them.shit has improved a lot in recent years from my coleman cooler batch sparging days
Keggles and cooler mash tuns still can't be beat!
Well, I don't know about can't be net, but they're still a very viable system.
usually you get what you pay for.
This has been very much my experience

I upgraded to 15g Spike kettles this year and man they are nice! But they were a lot less than the full turnkey system

it's kinda nice that Spike is pretty local to me, so I could go check their stuff out first hand.
