You would think they should be equally tasty.

I prefer waffle cut to crinkle but both are better than steak fries which are still better than curly fries.

I think waffle has more surface area per volume.

No fries are bad. Some are better than others.

The last time I ate at Jack in the Box was about 40 years ago.  Sick as a dog from food poisoning for two days - I've never been back.  Curly fries stick together all to often and then you don't get the nice crispiness.

Waffle are significantly better than crinkle, but chick fil a definitely degrades the brand by doing a passable job on them.

I don’t know that I’ve ever had a good crinkle fry. Any place that does it seems to use the same garbage frozen crinkle cut fry.

If they are cooked long enough and are fresh they are great. That’s my opinion of most fast food fries- the potential is there, but they often feck it up.

One trick to always get fresh ones is to ask for no salt. You get fresh ones, and they will usually pick up enough salt just from being dumped in and scooped out of the trays.

Culver's are *okay*, which is pretty much top of the scale for crinkle fries.

I had a buddy who order fries with no salt, and then a couple of packets of salt. I assume the spit was implied.

Crinkle cut, when done properly, are quite good. Waffle cut can be superior if executed proper also. The difference is the cook

I once deep fried a turkey in peanut oil. The next day I deep fried 2 chickens in the same oil. After the chickens, I dropped in a basket of waffle cut fries. I think they were the best fries I ever made!

I disagree

the crinkle fries I've seen probably only increase surface area per volume slightly over a steak fry.  are we talking about two different products?
