Seems to me a community of a given population can support a finite number of any given business. I am a beer enthusiast, I am going to go and visit a craft beer establishment so many times per month. Other beer enthusiast have their frequency, some more, some less.

We can make up numbers and do the math, but in community, it will average X pints of beer sold per month. If you open "too many" craft beer houses, some of them will not he able to survive. They could all serve great beer, great staff, fair prices, etc. If my community has 50 craft beer houses, only 4 of them (on average) are going to see my money each month.

In addition, Denny, I'm not trying to say you are 100% wrong, just that those kinds of statements should be reserved for specific cases. You're kind of a rock star among homebrewers and what you say has influence in the community. I'd hate for that to have an inadvertent negative affect.

I can only speak the truth as I see it.

We've had a number of breweries start up in the Missouri side in an area that is having a little revival.  Their hours are limited enough that I won't go except for 1 or 2 that have marginally acceptable hours.  I suspect there will be some equipment for sale - I would guess 35% will be gone before long.  Empathy is nice but it does not pay the bills

Exactly...I'm not gonna sugar coat it in order to make someone feel better.
