Yikes. I saw a bottle at Total Wine a few years back for the regular $100 price. Part of me regrets not picking it up, but meh, no beer can live up to that.

That's the ultimate in snobbery. If I knew anyone who paid $600 for a bottle of beer, I'd kick them in the nuts.Besides, didn't Jamil or somebody make a 25% beer already?

Yipes, I've got a 2003 bottle sitting unopened on my bar I received as a wedding gift. For $600, I might just have to put it on the market.

I killed my bottle of 2003 in, uh 2004. Got it for a b-day present and it dint last long. Probly shoulda cellared it a few years first huh? I have to agree with Basser, a big meh. I bet with some oxidative aging it will be cats ass in a few years though.

My guess is I would feel the same way - I'm not impressed by high ABVs. If someone gave me a bottle for $10 I'd try it.

If it's anything like the Triple Bock was, that will be the most expensive gag inducer ever.

Have either of those beers made it on a top 100 list? :stabby:

I've had a bunch of these huge alcohol beers. None of them were any good.

Samiclaus? Used to be the highest ABV at one time. I think it is liquid sex. Had a chance to have some '96 earlier this summer. Best liquid I have ever consumed.

Never had it.

I am just about positive I saw it at Julio's last time I was out there. Table and Vine next to me has plenty. Last year when I went to buy some, there were some dusty 4 packs in the back of the shelf, so I got the last of the 2007. good stuff. $22 per 4 pack, but a lot better value than $600/liter, or even $125/liter when I was gifted my Utopias. The brewery castle in eggenberg I believe has been brewing it since 1998? at the new location, when I had the '96 I also tried some '01, and it was night and day, not sure if it was the brewery or the oxidation and cellaring, but even my '07 was heavenly.Ironically it now says "the world's most extraordinary beer" on the label, not sure but it seems like it may have used to read "strongest" instead.
