50k workers on strike.

Just give em a reason a reason to move your jobs down south.

Messicans are ready, willing, and able to do your job for 3/4 less pay and no bennies.

Yeah, sounds like another opportunity for the progressivist office seekers to go after soundbites. I heard that GM offered a decent deal and the UAW wouldn't budge. Could be a good opportunity for Toyota to make up lost ground. GM vehicles are already shitty enough as it is.

I heard they offered $8k to each employee just to ratify. Admittedly I don’t know a lot about it, but it seems like they make good money and have great benefits. $8k? Whoa! I’d probably jump all over that

FBI and Internal Revenue Service agents raided the home of UAW President Gary Jones in metro Detroit early Wednesday as part of a nationwide sweep of sites tied to the autoworker union.

Agents also raided the California home of Dennis Williams, who preceded Jones as UAW chief; the union’s northern Michigan conference center; a UAW regional office in Missouri, where Jones was based previously; and the home of Williams aide Amy Loasching in Wisconsin.

The raids presumably are linked to an ongoing scandal that has been centered on misspent money intended for use by the union's joint training center with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, but has expanded in recent weeks to include vendor contracts and to touch officials tied to the union's General Motors training center.

That’s the UAW/company M.O. dangle a carrot to ratify. Union officers get way more out of the deal and the workers are left paying dues for nothing. Feck em...

A while back they made a deal to screw over new hires at a much lower pay and benefits to preserve the pay and benefits of current members. Turns out people think that's not very fair now.

Plus keeping/reopening plans in the US, which seems a legit beef given GM's profits.

What bugs me is the teamsters are now refusing to haul GM vehicles while the strike is on. So like some kind of superunion that's attempting to strongarm/racketeer/extort the complete supply chain to get their loot. Yet our liberal twits who have so intensely disliked collusion for the past three years are mysteriously and inexplicably mum.

So your “high end” corvette thread about the car you bought won’t happen till after the strike? Damn

I do like how GM is posting their offers publicly and are pretty much cutting out the crooked UAW officers and going straight to the rank and file members.

Still, don’t butch about your jobs going to Messicans when you strike and turn down offers.

Not sure what you're on about. I wouldn't throw a corvette in the trash if somebody handed it to me, but I'm certainly not going to go spend my own money on one.

Unions are expected not to cross picket lines and honor all strikes........

The Teamsters are doing it right.........

Feck both sides in this deal.

GM is a bunch of assholes for trying to feck the union, despite their record profits.

The uaw and others are a bunch of assholes for expecting wages above their skill level.

They can all burn.

I disagree. If they can cripple entire industries on a whim, that's too much power. Antitrust rules should apply.
