I feel like my abv tolerance is going down over time. I remember when nothing but a 9-10% beer gave me insta-buzz. The last few years it's been more like 6+, now i'm noticing even 5% beers make me woozy. I've been drinking Harpoon Rec League this summer, it's 3.8%. I can knock those back pretty much non-stop but one 5.3% really throws me off. It's kind of weird. I try not to drink anything over 6% during the week because even one will have me waking up groggy.

What's the cut off for you drunkies?

Typically, 7% and up is what I'm drinking.

I like to get my buzz going quickly.

I can’t drink high ABV beers like I used to, but not because of tolerance. More of a drinkability thing. Liquor with seltzer goes down faster.

Exactly this. I'm drinking a lot of 9% stuff lately. Plus I almost always do 1 or 2 shots at the beginning of a session.

I drink a lot of stuff in the 4.5 to 5% range and just stay at a pleasant elevation.  But sometimes when I'm out I'll order IPAs and not really think too much about ABV and then realize I've been drinking 7.8% or 9.2% (or higher) beer at the same rate I drink the 5% stuff.  Then I end up like a blithering idiot.  :D

I rarely drink beer anymore. Pretty much whiskey on ice, or vodka with a splash of something on ice. At same time, my tolerance isn't level Vagus, so a high abv beer would be noticed after 1 probably.

It depends on how easy the bigger beers go down.  Two 8% in a half hour will be noticeable.  I usually stick with 6 - 7% max if we're out and about.  At home my stuff is 5 - 6%.
