Yesterday I went jogging with a set of Bluetooth ear buds (that are connected together).   I like to run with one ear open so i'm aware of what is going on around me.   I tried just hanging the other bud around my neck but it caused the other to come out regularly, it was annoying.

Do any of you have experience with a Bluetooth earbud set where I could just wear one ear bud?   Keep in mind i'm jogging so my head does move around.

(I thought I started a thread about this before but could have thought about it when i went to bed and took ambien.  I can't find it in the search, so here we are again)

I really like my Anker Soundcore. It has to be your right ear but you can wear just one. Great battery life.

My son uses bluetooth buds.  They are completely separate and rechargeable so I assume you could just wear one.  In fact, when I'm talking to him he takes one out, listens, responds and then puts it back in.  <_<

i'll look into the anker, i have 2 pairs of anker and they both are great.

I don't think you can cut the cable, it might short something out?

If I just wear one ear bud and it's bluetooth, if one isn't within "distance" of the source, would it disconnect both?

There are probably designs with the battery in one side and BT module on the other, with the power amp somewhere. But others have everything in one side and the second bud is just a remote speaker. You can cut the cable on the second type.

I have the Aftershocks trekz air system. They're bone conducting headphones that don't go in your ears.

They have revolutionized my life.

I got these and they are pretty decent.  You can do either ear or both.

I have a set of Jlabs true wireless earbuds that you can just wear one. Only the right one can be used for phone calls though,I believe. Only $50.

So... bone phones.  :P

Engineering director is a runner and he told me about them. He called them vibrators. Now I call them vibrators.

I was on the phone with my wife in an airport a week ago and I said something like "I'm going old school right now, my vibrators ran out of juice"

and I thought I saw a woman almost fall out of her chair.

I have a set of plantronics backbeat fit's I use for running outside while being aware of my surroundings. Audio is good enough and as long as I'm not rocking out with the volume cranked up I can hear people, cars, dogs,... around me no problem.

I actually think it's great, but it's different. Sometimes I notice I can adjust the way they sit on my head and the sound quality gets better. Leads me to believe people with skinny ass heads might have trouble (Vagus). But ude, you can stop by my place on the way back from one of your weird injectable trips and I'll slap these things on you, you can see if you like them.

I might buy a cheapie version off ebay to see what I think. There is a brand that's on Amazon (so I can see reviews) that seem to be pretty good even if not as good as the one Glacies linked.
