I realized I was getting some air in my system and that tracked down to a cracked pump head. Lets hope this one works better!

did you have to replace the whole pump or just the head?

I got a whole new pump. This is a Blichmann riptide. My March was discontinued and the pump head part I needed was not available. I wanted a full SS head for a while so I did not have to worry about anything with temps and cleaning.

How many times does Denny have to say it? It's about the BEER not the GEAR! Just kidding. Make some beer, will you?

I think denny has a pump, conical and a bunch of automated brewing utensils
I need a pump or no brewing... Hoping to get a batch in this weekend.

I'm honestly so old-school... what do you do with the pump?

I pump hot water from the bk to mlt. Use it to recirculate the wort through my RIMS and the to the bk to boil. At the end I use it to whirlpool then to chill with a CFC and then pump to the fermenter.

I'm like an Amish brewer... everything is done by hand. I use gravity for all of that except the chilling part.

that pump gets quite the workout.

Mine gets a workout too. EHLT to MT. Gravity sparge but pump from MT to BK. Pump from BK to plate chiller (Inline post chiller this time of year too) into the fermenter. I need to get a spare pump. I could manage one session when it fails but it wouldn't be easy.

Yeah, I plan on fixing the other one with some jb weld and keep it around for emergencies.

It does. I have brewed this way for so long that I know no other way.

Yeah, I do, including a Riptide. It's so much easier to keep clean than my March. But you don't HAVE to have any of that stuff to make great beer. I still use my cooler mash tun more often than the fancy stuff. It's a question of what do you need vs. what do you want.
