I have a few bottles left of my 100th batch; Bananas Foster Porter.
I used Denny's Imperial Porter recipe. I let about 5 pounds of bananas ripen, get brown like for banana bread. Once there I peeled them which gave me about 4 pounds, ziplocked and frozen for a week. Once thawed they went into a non stick pan and I carmelized them and deglazed the pan with a generous amount of Myers Rum. This mix went into secondary for a month along with 2 peeled and sliced vanilla beans. The flavor of the banana and vanilla is very there today and I'd guess I made that batch a year ago.

That always makes me laugh. In his profile about what kind of beer he likes to make, I think he mentions very straight forward beers like Pils, Lagers etc and then his recipes have bananas........... I don't have my book here but I'm almost positive that's what I read haha
