LOL!
Whoever put that "video" together sure didn't look closely! The very opening frame is from the University of Wisconsin Student Section sitting in Section "O"! Look close enough and you will see "Jump Around", "Badgers", "Wisconsin" and the iconic forward motion "W". Took a screen shot and put it below.
It's actually from a cheer from a silly rivalry between the 5 sections in the stadium where the students are located.

been the official name since 1878. In 1986 the school added it to the seal the explanation was to avoid confusion with the other osu's (Oregon, Oklahoma). Chris Carter is credited /blamed for stressing it on mnf. He would have been a student in 1986.Adding the "The" in first place is sofa king pretentious.
On the radio (espn u show on xm) I heard in 2002 the national media jumped on "the U" vs "the Ohio State" and that made it more common. I actually don't remember an increase in the usage after 2002, it might be espn making themselves more important in the story

I love the part about trying to trademark OSU and having to share it with Oklahoma State University.
