Nope. Had one as a rental. Was fine for that, as others have said, terrible blind spots.
Also, nothing says pretentious a$$hat like a hummer.
He just turned 15, he needs a little more time to develop real pretentious.
The talk about the blind spots is a concern. I looked it up on the Hummer forum. They said the back pillar blind spot can hide a vehicle on your corner. Put the little convex mirrors on the corner of your door mirrors and you will see everything. Looks like I will spend the $5.

It’s a 4x4 PT Cruiser that will get wrecked by a new driver

Dude, you gonna zone PT at Wally World to cover gas on that thing?
It is not great, but actually better than a Jeep.
JUST SAY NO.
It’s a 4x4 PT Cruiser that will get wrecked by a new driver
Lol, it is not anywhere comparable to a PT Cruiser.

We really are. I only have 20ish years left, I plan on continuing doing so. He works hard, he would have been happy with a Yugo.
I honestly don't know?
Ah, the Yugo. So many memories.
Just had flashbacks from high school a buddy of mine... he was probably 5'6" and 130 pounds soaking wet. Drove a Yugo. Claimed he lost his virginity in the back seat. If it weren't for his small stature, I probably wouldn't have believed it.

It is pretty highly rated for the sand and off roading. He will be doing mountain trails. If you can call North Georgia and Tennessee mountains.
LOL
He’ll need a Jeep to pull him out.

Also, you’re gonna die in 20 years?
That will put me at 73. Nobody in my family has made it past the 60s, so past 20 more will be a bonus.

If it's what ya'll want, go for it. But, have you considered an FJ Cruiser? Very similar vehicle with great offroad capability, but Toyota reliability. Probably way cheaper to maintain as well, considering the production span vs. the Hummer.
XTerras are capable vehicles that should be reasonably priced as well.

My first car at 15 was a Plymouth Fury III. I lived through it, and had fun. I am sure he will too.
