Didn't he want to go to med school? If so, probably both.

he has to fill some elective hours, but he has to pick one for this semester.  he'll probably have to take both eventually.

For pre med I think the chemistry class is much more useful.

Comparing SOC to psych for one 100 level class. I really don't think it matters. Which ever fits the schedule better. As a major both require grad school psych probably as better career paths

Now if “Introduction to Logic” was on the table I’d say take that... The hardest part of that class is staying awake covering Venn diagrams :D

sounds like they are going to drop Chem and replace it with WesternCiv or US History or something....  He has an appt with advisor tomorrow, so we'll see, he's gonna have to take all of em anyway eventually.

Western Civ or History was a TON of reading my freshman year.  I'd go with whatever interests him more at this point.  More likely to get a better grade.  Overall, long term, Psych is probably the better tool to have, but can't go wrong with any of them.

during his freshman year he really only cares about establishing a solid GPA up front so he doesn't dig himself a hole like he did in high school freshman year (3 straight semesters of 2.2gpa, took him forever to get out of that mess)

Engrish Comp, Sociology, Biology 1, Concepts in PE (da fuq?), College Algebra, 1st yr seminar (what ever the feck that is), 15hrs. solid class load.  should be pretty easy imho, to me that looks like an easy 3.0GPA semester even with football.

starts class tomottow, coach had them helping move people into the dorms today then practice afterward, but they are completely off tomorrow it seems, get books, go to class, etc/.

Oh I agree... At my college every sport athlete took “circuit training”, there was a circuit training room, but it was rarely used(mostly by the wrestling guys)
