Splitting this off from the 911 thread...

Lees than 5 minutes left on this '72 Jeep.  Seems like a really low price,  $8900.  Is that a good deal?

No sale at $15,245.  I have no idea what these are going for so i don't have much comment on whether the reserve was too high.

There were problems with the V8 pared with the low gear ratio on those models.

Too much torque and you can wreck shop on your ###### front/rear ends. And it's only a 3 speed to boot.

ETA: Freaking filter George!

Some nice cars. I question people that buy cars and never drive them. The 91 z28, perfectly fine muscle/pony car for the era. But it became a garage queen with only 5k mikes. MSRP 21k current bid 14k.

I used to question that, too, but a lot of car people have a bunch of cars.  If you had 6-7 cars at any given time it's not weird to not put miles on them.  My 911 experience has made me realize that I could, and would, consider owning 3-5 "collector" type cars.  On the short list:  C6 ZO6, Ferrari 360, any MB SL class, probably a few more I can think of...

I don't think I realized the market for the 66 mustang. 23k for a 6 cylinder seems high. I owned a 64.5 6 cylinder (170) it was a fun car to own and be seen driving but not to actually drive. I would have thought low to mid 20s would get you a 289 while the 200 would be in the teens.

Not my interest but this seems like a great price

The color screams 90s build. But the paint still looks good

Forgot Audi R8.

That would be my dream garage.  i.e. the "I was into cars in the early-2000s Dream Garage"

911

360

R8

SL55 AMG

C6 Z06

The 360 is probably the only one you'd have to pay over $50k for, 6-speeds go closer to $100 but the sequential manual gearbox version, especially in an off brand color (not R/B/Y), get down into the 50s.
