He took out the control board too. New price: $9000.

There are companies that focus on board level repairs for machine tools. Seems like the oems only approach is board replacement. Is it fanuc?

I assume you’re insured for this sort of crap? This should be one of those farmers commercials.

I have heard if surface mount devices.

Never surface mouse devices.

A little electronics nerd humor there.

Haas. The boards I’m putting in are repaired/exchange.

It looks like he grounded the 240vac with the 5vdc that connects to the control.

I had one 14 years ago. She could get in and out on her own. One day she got into the house garage. Then she was in the house. She is still in the house.

Go the machine running yesterday. Two boards, five cable assemblies and three visits from the service guy. Well four, he headed out to his next job and we found the probing software was wrong. So a half hour later he was back for another three hours.

I've heard that most electronics work by pumping around magic smoke through tiny pipes, and they don't work once you let the smoke out.  It looks like your board uses a different technology, with miniatiure mice running through tiny tubes, and you de-miniaturized a mouse.

I am filing a claim with the insurance company. Don't know if it is covered yet.
