You don't even need to replace the fixtures. You can get LED lights that work with the ballast. Or by pass the ballast

yep there are total tubes which work with both style fixtures and ballast only that work with blast style. Do not put a ballast tube in a LED fixture as it will start a fire.

So you're telling me that if I want to make a fire, you're positive this will do it?

You could do this. Or for basically the same $ just do it right and replace the fixture entirely. The ballast will fail, it's just a matter of when.

Don't use the existing ballast. It has or it will burn out.

When i built this shop I put in 8 foot florescent. When they got bad after 10 years, I re-wired and replaced with 300w equivalent  compact florescent. Now those are getting old and I putting in 500w equivalent LED. I like the light these give off.

No.......

I can swap positions and they all check fine......

It's either the outside or inside that winds up working.......
