I've been lazy the last few batches and have been doing a conical bottom dump a few days before brewing and then a harvest dump on brewday. I got a "Please may I have another" thinnest gruel harvest ever early yesterday morning. I really didn't want to wait until the local place opened to get some yeast.
Pull off about 750ml from the kettle, brought it to a boil and chilled. Nice having my starter setup for that. Put the pathetic harvest in the stir plate for about 90 minutes before it got pitched. It was going some by then. The fermenter started rocking several hours before it usually does and wouldn't be surprised with a blowoff.
