Anyone braving today's date LOL and brewing today or this weekend? I just mashed in on an American Amber ale. Posted in the Recipe swap and using 1272. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Was planning to brew tomorrow morning, but all the Hurricane weather kept me from getting everything ready. Getting pushed back a few days.Planning on a ten gallon batch of Ordinary Bitter on Monday after work. It will be my first batch in nearly two years!

Assuming I get enough work done on my bathroom remodel tonight, I plan on the following beer related activities this weekend.1. Brew a Moose Drool clone (out of the last BYO mag)2. Keg 3 gallons of a hard apple cider3. Finish cleaning some bottles4. Bottle half a batch of Scotch Ale and let the rest carbonate in the keg. There is motivation on the bathroom remodel because I may be able to use the vanity we are pulling out as a base for holding a lot of my brewing equipment, and purhaps put casters on it as part of a brew rig.

I have a 1272 starter cold crashing for Saturday or Sunday. Thinking it's time for my house RyePA, won't know until I start measuring grain.......... It's really one of my favorite yeasts, lots of possibilities........

DJ. That sounds good. I am thinking of squeezing a Rye PA in after I brew this version of an Amber ale tonight. I have not brewed with 1272 in a couple of years so I am looking forward to it. What temp do you find is the best with 1272. I am thinking to go 64-66 with this beer.

I have to rack a chinook pale to 2ndary and dry hop with some more chinook, maybe rack my dampfbier if it has finished, and since I have been making a lot of pales/spiced/estery stuff recently I think I will stick with a brown/robust porter with just water/barely/hops/yeast...I was thinking of going with the banana bread beer in the recipes, but I think i need to do something classic.

I originally planned for Sunday. Now today is supposed to rain all day and nice tomorrow. I didn't get my starter ready in time to brew a scottish 80/- so that is going to have to wait. I do have an IPA fermentedwith belgian yeast to keg later. I'm a little anxious to see how that turned out.If I get bored later I may brew something with dry yeast, but the scottish ale really needs to wait for the right yeast.

Damn H1N1 flu is keeping me from brewing today. I had a 2206 starter cold crashed inanticipation of the fine weather we are currently getting. The weather is supposed to changeonce Ida arrives here Sunday. There is always next weekend though. I should be better by then.

I'm usually around 62 - 65 with that yeast. I think a bit warmer would be fine though.

Launced my first (and St. Louis' first) sour ale, Funky Friday the 13th on Friday, a Flanders Red Ale. It was a huge hit.Today I'm kegging up the rest of my Pre-Pro Cream Ale and moving the APA.Monday I plan to brew a Smoked Imperial Brown Ale with that new cherry wood smoked malt from Briess and molasses.
