I'm in the middle of changing from propane to electric. decided to upgrade from my keggles to 15 gallon megapots for an HLT and boil kettle.

maybe in a year or two, thinking of upgrading to stainless steel brew buckets; the SS brewtech brew master buckets look pretty nice with some features, thermowell, and digital thermometer included.

or there is another brand of stainless buckets that is also in the market?

figured that i swap out plastic buckets every couple of years, while easy to buy, looking at a fermentor to buy once.

what does the brain trust think?

I use Chapman Steeltank fermentors that you can find on eBay.  I have modified mine with tri-clamp fittings and like them well enough.

Anvil has one https://www.anvilbre...v-fv-7.5gal.htm

Spike has the flex  https://spikebrewing.com/pages/flex

The Chapman has a flat bottom and that is what I wanted at the time, the others I have listed have a coned one.

Lots of choices these days.  A lot more than when I was looking a few years back.

Any clue what the diameter of the 15g or 20g FIAK seal might be?

I was going to link that but I assumed 5g batches. Now that I say that I'm not sure what size lefty brews.

I figured 10 gallons since he has a 15 gallon megapot.

True.  I do rock 15g kettles and only do 6g batches tho.  Either way those converted kegs are nice fermentors.

I am sure I could have gone with a 10g kettle and just a 15g MLT.  For no-sparge I do like the extra room the 15g gives me.  I will do a 10g batch once and a while since I still have a 14g fermentor that I can not seem to sell.

I brew mostly 5 gallon batches, with a handful of 10 gallon batches thrown in for good measure. It seems the only 10 gallon brews made are session beers or huge barelywines, RIS, etc.

The big 14 gallon fermentors are super sweet; but, using a chest freezer for a fermentation chamber, dead lifting a half barrel of beer isn't for me; much rather have two 7 gallon buckets.

you don't need to.  the one I linked you push it out with CO2 into your 5 gallon kegs.

I use the anvil ss brew buckets. There are some things I like about them. The valve is kinda a finicky though. I've been taking them fully apart to clean and have issues with the ball assembly  trying to loosen while rotating the arm. I have under tighteneed that and it started to come loose when I moved it too many times.

I'm pretty sure it was mostly operator error but it definitely isn't idiot proof.

<-- an idiot.
