Pizza Hut changing pan pizzas for the first time in 40 years.

I'd like to try one of their new personal pan pizzas today, but I don't think I have time to read four books before lunch.

I'll try it. I think Dominos did a great job with their new recipes.

I sometimes forget that to most of the country, those franchise pizza places are the best pizza available

I'm not sure that's really true anywhere nowadays.

But then, I don't even own a TV.

They are better than gas station pizza...

We do have one local place.  It's $25 for a large 1 topping pizza.  The service is garbage and the pizza isn't as good as Pizza Hut/Dominos/ PapaJohns.

I’m sure Iowa has great pizza, but it’s just not the case everywhere else.

True.  Sometimes my wallet and tired ass just wants to buy a $7 pizza and call it a day.

Within 35 minutes of my house, we have a pizza hut (which I refuse to buy from), a Dominos, and a local place.   Local place you can't get a pizza under $20 that is worth a damn.  Plus it's  pain in the ass to park near there and get your pizza.

The thing about the chain places is consistency. There's a place here that is a bit fancier and when their pizza is good it's really good, but sometimes they miss the mark and you end up disappointed that you wasted 26 bucks on a pizza.

I am not really certain how we are defining area of the country. But I think I agree. I often see pizza huts near freeway exits. If you are defining the area as the immediate proximity to the freeway often it is your only pizza choice

I don’t know that it’s specifically regional, just for a lot of people, the big chains that advertise during football are the best pizza available

I would say that outside of about any major metro area you're getting into sketchy pizza quality aside from big chains.  I know for a fact that down where we're moving to there isn't good pizza for the surrounding 3-4 counties.  simply doesn't exist.  pizza hut is the best around and its not even close despite there being other pizza places.

My brother in Nashville can’t find good pizza.
My sister is in Baltimore and can’t find good pizza.
So I’m not sure that it’s even metro, just some metro areas. Bagels are similar. A lot of places just have Lenders or Einstein’s or something.

Some of this might be regional preference. I do not care for floppy crust ny style. My preference is going to be a thin or medium wood fired pizza that is going to have some substance to the bottom crust.

I could see someone from NY not liking the pizza I like and saying you can't get good pizza in Columbus if I took the to the 5 or 6 places I go to
