Come on Denny, pull some weight with these folks!
Couldn't if I wanted to. I think it's a fairly good policy, but they need to make people aware of it.

The price on that is really not bad at all.

So... I was monkeying around with this machine today, and as soon as it connected to my WiFi, it downloaded another NEW firmware upgrade (it also had done this before when I was checking it out.)
When it was finished, I discovered... I now DO have access to the Manual Brewing menu!
Oh YEAH!!!!!
I'm excited!
I'll probably be brewing a PicoPak this weekend. I have 2: Rogue Dead Guy Ale and Denny Conn Little RIPA Rye IPA (a scaled-down Wry Smile Rye IPA - 6.3% ABV and 68 IBU).
I'm thinking I'll do Dead Guy first because I know the beer well, plus I can go buy a 6-pack for comparison purposes.
I still don't have access to the online PicoBrew Manual Brewing Recipe Crafter, but I've heard that some users have successfully created profiles in BeerSmith for the PicoBrew. I'll see if I can find more info on that.
I've also heard a disparaging rumor that the PicoBrew in Manual Brewing mode will not hold as much grain as a PicoPak, which will limit the gravity of the wort it can produce... bummer...

Damn, the 3 gallons complete system including the stainless fermentor and pump is only $515 taxed & delivered.
The 5 gallon complete system without the fermentor but including the pump kit, is slightly more, crazy tempting.

And add $280 and you have a still, too.

Just pulled the trigger on one of these, including the still, which will be used to distill herbal oils for the wife and for a local restauranteur. The convenience and smaller volumes consumed fit my current and soon-to-be smaller quarters lifestyle. Which means I will soon have a Grainfather for sale (complete with manual), used once if any one here s interested before I result to the dreaded craigslist. Any blue boarder will get special consideration in terms of price (located in Tallahassee).

I'll be interested to hear how you like it & how it compares to the Grainfather...been thinking about getting one of these electric systems.
Was it mainly the still option that sold you (over keeping the Grainfather?) Size/convenience aren't that much different are they?

There is nothing wrong with the Grainfather, I think they're brilliant. Getting ready to retire and start a small business and don't see having time to go through the entire process. Putting something on the kitchen counter, turning it on and hours later have a completed process is appealing. In addition, I simply do not/can not drink that much beer any more. The still is also a factor - I provide herbs and kaffir lime leaves to a friend who owns a restaurant. The idea of infusions is something he wants to explore.
If you're seriously interested in a Grainfather, PM me. I'm sure we could work something out.
I’m interested in how that still works for you
So am I. I'll post after getting a batch or two under my belt.

wait, is that just buying 2 2.5 gallon machines? https://www.picobrew...oducts/z.cshtml
it would be hard to justify that kind of cash now but if I all my equipment was stolen or something I'd be thinking long and hard about this.
I just looked on CL, a guy is selling a brand new one for $4k near me. Go for it!
