Official measurements only, please.  Not a web test.

I think if you have an IQ above some certain threshold, then success in life is probably dictated by other traits, like risk acceptance, work ethic, etc.

The only official test i've taken was when i was 12, so not really great since IQ tends to increase until your 20s. My 12 yo score was 139. In my mid 20s i considered applying for MENSA membership and the practice tests i took indicated i would score in the 150s. That's usually the number i go with, if asked.

Wouldn't you have to be pretty vain, or else concerned you had a problem, to go get checked out by an actual professional?

Put me in for probably ten points under Vagus. But that's just from a quick turn of my head to cough.

When i was just out of school i thought having MENSA on my resume would look good but i got a job before i went through with it. Aside from that I don't see the point of being a member. I'm not going to go mingle with a bunch of people just because they have high IQ. It's probably good networking, i suppose, but i've never been a great networker TBH.

Your two posts on the topic tell me you would be an exemplary MENSA member.

I woulda joined the menses if I'd known about it and been accepted. But I was identified as a failure early on.

Untreated failure I might add.

I haven't looked at the spread of self-reported scores, but let's try to keep in mind that this group is probably the target audience for Ow My Balls.

The most common IQ tests are normed such that average = 100, and one standard deviation is 15 points. The current Brews Bros bell curve is shifted over three standard deviations above average as of 7:35 AM,CDT.

You did see the "self-reported scores"part of my post, right?

Personally, I come in around 170.

And then like another 140 on the verbal.

I once scored a 30% on an exam covering 2d NMR spectra. So maybe 30?

Never been tested. Never heard anyone even talk about IQ.
