Seems kind of wierd that the military would even get involved. Guess it's normal, just seems strange. What a moron. Can't they just deny it? Unless there is a video or something...

Because boning a coworker’s spouse makes for a toxic workplace. Honestly, if the other husband wasn’t military, the military usually says “well, this isn't affecting good order and discipline so we will sit this out” but given this...

And to whether this is because it’s an officers wife... no. This would be dealt with even with a private’s wife (usually). But he is extra fecked because of its an officer.

This is part of why step daughter needs to get legal help ASAP and figure out how to keep her and her kids benefits for as long as possible. This is being kept close hold by the Marines right now. It WILL get out and it will be ####ing nuts when it does. An NCO banging an officers wife? While he’s deployed? This is bad in ways your family hasn’t even thought of yet. The military doesn’t stand for Jodie’s. Chris is done. He’s past tense. But you can see what can be done for SD and the mini-yous.

Do mps do bedroom stake outs or something? Any admission to a friend would just be hearsay, right? Or are the guilty parties just stupid and admit to it? Or send texts like, "I enjoyed having sex with you last night!".

The military functions under rules that are less than reasonable doubt. Basically, if they think it happened, it did and full punishment can be given. 51% and you did it. Period. That special trial thing I mentioned before is key. Those rules are slightly better but still not good.

Seems to jive with what I’ve always been told about UCMJ vs civilian courts. If you are innocent you want to be in a court martial, if you are guilty you want to be in civilian courts

The way this usually works out, the chain knew before Chris knew he was found out.

I’ve been invoked in 7 of these (no, I was never in the wrong or suspected of it lol) from dude being totally innocent to here be video on PornHub. I was partially involved in about a dozen others. This gets ugly.

DD, for the immediate future, SD will have goodwill with wives. There will be pity and understanding. But that will end. Chris will have a story. They always have a story. Thebprocks will have selectively edited texts to support it. If he was putting his Romeo not protecting himself from getting caught, he was working protection. Trust me. And end of the day, he’s military and she isn’t.

He will still have legal protection for a trial or court martial but if she talks to them first and mentions divorce, they can NOT assist him there. This is what keeps more of her options open and frankly, he’s fecked her out of most of her options already.

Probably nothing yet. They are building their case and finding their left and right limits. Having Jag tell them what they can and can’t do. Unless hubby sent him a “Imma ruin your career bitch” email (quite common and a bad step...) this was probably a bolt out of the blue for Chris.

OMFG this. Every time a private tells me “nah sa’rnt, I got this. I know what’s up” and tell them to put the dildo down because they’re ####ing themselves.

We don't know much at this point other than stuff is settling out day-by-day.

I may have a trip to LA pretty soon. Our, (me and the W/G) thought is I fly out. They they home. When I get done. Grab the Kia Sorento and load it up and drive back to GA. They hang out with us until things get sorted out, over the summer.
Figure it out come August when more permeant things like kids' school kicks in.

That's gonna suck for him if they go down this road.
He's up for Gunny this year...

If you for some reason choose to travel back via I-84 I’ll put ya up for the night and buy the beer.
Best I can offer, but sounds like ‘dis has the best advice. My exwife actually kept me out of two of the top and best attorneys in town by doing just this thing.
Not saying I didn’t luck out with an up and coming animal who had just left one of them before she did the lawyer shopping game but it’s real.

Also, if she has an option on who to talk to... take the female officer. She’ll be more sympathetic and less likely to cover for the Corps.

Okay was wondering the distinction since you hear about cheating without punishment like this so I was wondering what the trigger point was.

Can someone translate these 2 sentences to english for me?  I've read them (especially the 2nd one) several times and not quite understanding.

Not much else to add, but let me echo what LeDis posted earlier:

My sister (an attorney) was an Army JAG lawyer for several years (had to leave the service early, due to a lingering back injury she suffered in officer basic that never healed right).

She told me about a few cases that were extremely similar to the OP, and the advice that LeDis gave is exactly, (let me repeat, exactly) what my sis would and did advise in that scenario.

Just another point of reference.

Yeesh. Sorry to hear about this DD. Sucks for errybody. The military does not make for a happy marriage, I saw more than enough examples. That's one of the big reasons I got out.

Dis is correct about seeking a JAG sooner rather than later.
