Going to fix it up?

I wish I'd have had the foresight to get one from my grandpa's service station when he sold it's assets in 1998.

I was young, and dumb. He offered me anything I wanted before the auction began. 17 year old me couldn't think of what I wanted.

I had a chest type 7up branded pop dispenser that was in my grandparent's business when I took over. I used it as a beer cooler for a while but sold the house with the 40 x 50 shop and didn't have the room to keep it around so I sold it for a couple hundred bucks. I thought the money was more important at the time but wish I'd held onto it now. Not many 7up branded items around and I've never seen another like this one. a friend had a pepsi machine like the one posted and tried beers in it, found it was better to just leave it unlocked than have beer drop and bang like they do. definitely a cool addition to the pool deck I'm sure.

Just talked to a coworker. His dad has a vending machine business. Showed him the picture. He said, that's a 1970s Dixie Narco machine. They are mostly mechanical and rarely break. He said don't buy used parts, go to Vending World and get new parts for it, they are cheap. I looked. Door lock mech is $10. Coin mech is $32. He said they are super easy to pull and replace.

the problem as a 17 year old is finding a location to use or keep it.

When I was in my early mid 20s my cousin worked at a vending company that was converting jukeboxes from 45 to CD. They were selling the record ones for cheap. But I realized dragging it from apartment to apartment.

These things are fine when you have the man cave, rec room etc

That’s good info he provided you. I wonder how energy efficient it will be? It may just add a few dollars a month to the utility bill or considerably more.

Is the plan to keep it coin operated. If so will you have a supply of coins that you keep circulating or actually charge people?
