This is a good list, but I'll add that if you have a good vinegary ketchup like Hunt's rather than that Heinz crap, then it's pretty passable, as it combines salt, vinegar, and the nice umami you get from something like brown gravy.

Bbq sauce
Spicy ketchup

Vinegar is a french fry seasoning, not a condiment.

Blue cheese dressing
Mayo
BBQ sauce
Tartar sauce

Agreed, pretty much anything is going to be better than ketchup. If I had to have something in that general family as a dip, I'd prefer cocktail sauce.

A little season salt. Maybe some malt vinegar once in a while. Anything else on fries is heinous...

A lot of the above plus ranch, honey mustard and almost anything that is served to me with a burger (a southwest sauce or whatever)... I almost always end up dipping fries into it.  Ketchipotle and Ketchapeno is good too.

I will too, but the joke is that some people seem to think sauce is only there to cover up mediocrity, and actually say things like I did above.

some can be good with or without.  that's all I meant.  others pretty much require something on them.
