My dad has 3 part-time jobs to keep busy.

Summers he works 4 hours a day / 4 days week at a golf course mowing grass.  He helps a local guy with some farming a variable # of hours a week.

Winters, he works at the golf course on a similar schedule, evenings, he works at the local ski area as security and such.

He's not making nearly the $ he did when working full time.  But all of his jobs have him outdoors and in relaxed, social situations that he loves.

MIL is here working this afternoon.  She just wanted out of the house.  She started work here the year she retired.  The work here is in the winter when it's yucky outside.  She doesn't work all summer and fall.

There's always stuff that needs reading.

And bottles that need emptying.

And skins that need sewing.

You know that "Wooly woods" job I had?
Lost it to a speeding ticket.
Hallsville cop got me going 39 in a thirty five.

What?  That's sketchy.

Company vehicle?

Hallsville is a little Mayberry north of Columbia. Coming north out of there and I saw the 60 sign, hit resume on my cruise control and I got to 39 a second early.

What? That's sketchy.

Company vehicle?

Yeah, total bullshit- no tickets in twelve years. Apparently a well known speed trap.
Biggest part of their revenue I bet.

That sucks.
I guess you could just drive the route and take pics of the cool shit in your own car.

I can get bored sometimes mainly due to cold, snowy muddy weather. I keep myself busy by never ending home maintenance, a few hobbies, walking for fitness, driving around aimlessly, and checking out the forest. I also got a fishing license this year so that will be my focus in the next few weeks, the steelhead run. Maybe drive the camper van up to Tippy Dam and drag some spoons through the water.

I am more and more in love with the idea of selling my keystone 2860bh and getting a class c rv.
This way I can spend months in FL for the winter if I so wish.
I don't think I want to drive that far dragging the trailer.
I have always hated dragging one.

Next weekend head a touch south to Silvermines Rec Area just west of Fredricktown. Bring a camera and enjoy watching the kayak races from Millstream Gardens. Hike the riverside trail along the shut-ins. Look for me at site 33. I'll have a few beers with you.

I must be one self absorbed SOB, because I have not gotten bored since last summer when I retired.

I make it to my local indoor range about once every week, where I exercise the revolvers and my .380.  That gives me some time at the reloading bench for the .45.

SWMBO and I split the house work, and outside stuff.  We get in some travelling in the 5th wheel.  I do hope to get some fishing in with the kayak when it get warmer.

Gardening will kick in in a few weeks.   That and some lurking on the interwebs and I'm good.

That would be my ideal retirement. But high as a giraffe's ass most of the time. :)
