It is on my list. Not because I agree but I have been down some serious internet rabbit holes on the flat earth theories. I am seriously fascinated by it. I by no means agree but cant understand the thinking behind those that do.

I just don't understand what the conspiracy is. What possible motive could there be to the government or NASA to fool us all to believing the Earth is round and not flat?

ya twice in the movie they did it.   Midway through they were talking about a laser gyroscope would be what they needed to prove that the earth wasn't moving, if it was the gyroscope would register at 15degrees axis.  Then they get one for 20k and it reads that the axis tilt on it was 15 degrees and they start tryign to figure out how that could be and they came up wtih that the gyroscope was reading the movement of the air not the earth.

Then in the end they did a light test that again showed it was curved.

funny stuff.

Especially since there’s never been a single story of a person falling off the edge

that's what I was watching for, to get a look at the people believing in flat earth, they all have something in common, lots of cats.

Well, it's not a sphere.  They aren't 100% wrong (at least not with PH rounding)

Yeah,a closer model is an oblate ellipsoid. But something I've always found to be a useful bit of perspective is that it's closer to spherical than most bowling balls. For a wide range of purposes, it's a sphere.

I didn't watch it, but I gather this clip was supposed to be an experiment to prove the earth was flat?

Someone should just get up in a plane, and see if they can fly all the way around.   Can't believe nobody's tried that yet!

I guess 62 year old data is just too ancient.

See.... if only there was a repository of information, available on the internet, where Flat Earth types could educate themselves about this stuff!

It's probably all a Russian conspiracy anyway.

Well, if I understand the woo, the issue isn't that the earth is flat like a piece of paper, It's domed like a frisbee. "Flying around the world" is essentially like the needle on a record player going round and round.

However, polar flights can't be explained by these people. These basically happen every day to China.

Example: UA808 between Beijing and DC goes nearly over the north pole.

Put the astronauts from One Strange Rock on the Flat Earth thing... PROVEN!   I did see a title BEHIND THE CURVE on Netflix but I haven't watched it yet.  Sounds fun.

their theories weren't half as interesting as the individuals they interviewed.  The "leader of flat earth" seemed to be the stereotypical youtube nut, they didn't say he lived in his mom's basement but every interview he was in his mothers house.  Then the "original NASA leak" guy who was the original flat earth nut is posting random rants about how the other guy is a CIA agent and a lizard person or some other conspiracy.   then there was the woman all the guys wanted to be with who posted her own youtube channel with her 14 cats......

And it just got more woo from there.
