When I first saw it as a kid I was blown away at the graphics.

Hell yeah.

I had a friend growing up whose dad owned an arcade. When it shut down half the games ended up in his garage. Dragon's Lair was one. We played the shit out of it.

Remember playing it at an skating rink when I was a kid; blown away by the graphics, but damn, an expensive game to play first time around. 

 

played it once on a NES port, from the UK, IIRC.  that was a abomination.
