Two of my adult children have struck pothole this week big enough to pop a tire and bend the wheel.  One of my cousins did the same thing to both wheels and tires on one side of her car (same hole).  According to the news it's happening all over the city.  Hell, I hit one hard enough yesterday to jar my teeth.

This sucks

My wife and I were just talking about this.  The main road near us is really, really bad.  Some areas have had some patchwork done which is now falling apart so there are little pieces of blacktop everywhere.  We complain when the roads are bad and then we complain when there is construction!

Take the new MI governor.  Let her fix your roads first.

Is this a problem with little car tires (thinner ply and less distance from the tread to the rim or weaker rims)?  I've hit a big ass pot hole in NM the other weekend w/o issue but I'm in a truck with E ply tires.

Main Street in my town is, technically, a state highway where maintenance is owned by the state.  My town fights with the state about filling in potholes every year-- it looks really bad to have main street in such poor repair.

As an aside, do you have a website or app to report potholes and get them fixed?

Unfortunately she did it both times on the road into her apartment complex.  To which I asked, "WTF are you driving that fast on the road into your apartment?"

That sounds like an issue of speed and not paying attention. On the road I can see a pothole not being safely avoidable not so much in a driveway

To be fair to her, she lives in an apartment complex around a lake with a ring road about two miles total.  I'd guess the speed limit on that ring road is 30mph.

But on the other hand, there's nothing stopping one from creeping along at 5 mph like there would be on a freeway - especially if one had just damaged her wheel on the same road a few days ago.  Grrrr

The main road to enter my neighborhood is littered with potholes, thanks to a road project the county started last year but is on hold over the winter, and will be finished this spring.

In the meantime, tho, it's a complete mess.

Driving down that stretch of road is what I imagine it's like to drive on the moon; I've seen at least 2 potholes big enough to hold a beach ball.  Most are large enough to hold a soccer ball.

All are enough to cause some serious damage.
