I got the kids this with the Nintendo switch. They are absolutely enthralled with it. I just played for a few minutes. This game is really boring.

My kids love it. I enjoy a round or two every so often.

I came in third the first time i played and they thought it was the most amazing thing ever. All i did was hop in a plane and fly around until only two people were left. Someone who knew how to play killed me the second i got out of the plane.

I've watched a few games through until the end. The strategy is the same in every one. People just build protective towers and try to isolate the remaining players. It would be way more interesting strategically without the building function.

My youngest plays, he’s actually really good at it, but it is hands down one of the most awful wastes of time ive ever seen, kids addicted as feck to it

Got out of the plane?

As with any game, it becomes more enjoyable and downright fun when you learn how to play properly. I think I read some where that at any given time there are several million people playing Fortnite simultaneously. I'm sure there are more now that Christmas has passed. But there are something like 120 million Fortnite players across all platforms. I'll go out on a limb and say...it's a hit.

The best is having 9 year olds smack talking you for 20 minutes.

originally I think building was a bigger part of it?  I dunno.  otherwise it's just counter-strike or something.

My son really wants to play fortnight. He knows all about it, talks about it in his sleep etc.  But i'm trying to hold off on him going online as long as I can.  So far he's reasonably content with the halo games. But i can see it when he plays. He trash talks to the monsters, but they don't talk back.  He's hungry to run his mouth at some 9 year olds.
