I have 5 empty kegs in my beer bunker.  Five.  I only own 10 and half of them are empty.  Half!   That's a lot of casualties.   I might have to giddy up and alternate yeast strains between the 2782 and 2112 so I can catch up.  One weekend with Staro, then take that beer out of the fridge and use the West Coast Lager the next weekend.  I have three recipes set to make with the 2112 and maybe 4-5 with the Staro.  It's tough but it's gotta be done.  WHO'S WITH ME?!?!?  Wait, I'm the only one here.

I'll say it again.  10 gallon batches.  I have 4 different beers on tap and at least 4 others ready to go and 4 carbing.  I don't get bored with the same thing

at the very least on beers that don't suffer much with age it makes a lot of sense.  drink the first 5 gals right away and let the other 5 hang out until later.  before you know it you have a bunch of different beers available.

Man, I've only got 2 taps and only one has beer on it!

But I blew all my beer money on a mill, so now I have no grain! :(

It's official... my "on-deck" fridge is empty.  There are usually 4-5 kegs in there.  I do have two batches in progress that will be hitting the on-deck fridge shortly and I'm brewing tonight and then again one day next week and then I'll probably shut it down for a bit.  My last family gathering (mid-to-late November) hit me hard and my kids will be home starting next Thursday which means more consumption.  Must.  Make.  Beer.   Also, I just went onto Ritebrew and ordered another pack of Staro (before it disappears forever) and some 2124 as well.

I have been in a huge brewing rut.  I go down to plan out a brew and just lose desire to get it done.  I hope to get one done this weekend but the last month or so has just been a lost cause.  Just too many kids things then getting bronchitis on top of everything else just killed any desire to brew.

Didn't know you had been sick.  That's a bummer and usually a real damper on brewing.  I have the time and the desire but the bottom line is that I can't produce enough beer to keep up with the demand.  On one night in late November (Bears were playing the Vikings that night, I think) I must have had 20-25 beer drinkers here and every time I saw someone go to the taps I wondered when kegs would start to blow.   A beer can take a month to brew and a night to be drained.

One of my great fears as a homebrewer is running out of beer.  I try (as much as possible) to always have something fermenting, cold-crashing, carbed/waiting to tap, or on tap, at all times.

This time of year is particularly challenging, with Christmas less than 2 weeks away, winter weather setting in, consumption (for me at least) on a bit of an upswing, and good days to brew on a bit of a downward trend.

A beer can take a month to brew and a night to be drained.

Nice as it is to have your beer appreciated, seeing a good batch go that fast is a bit of a bummer.  "Hey, you bastards didn't leave me any!" :D

Vibes, mang.  Bronchitis is the suck.  I have enough trouble breathing as it is, (thanks, asthma), and the times I've had bronchitis made me wish for a quick death.

Don't feel too bad. I own 18 (found a couple brewers getting outta the game this s year) I was completely tapped out about two months ago. The panic is real.

The horror of empty kegs.

I've had a long, productive work week and I'm about to start a dark lager brewday here in about an hour.  It's 43° and gray... perfect day to brew!

Mmm, I just had a diabolical idea.  I'm brewing today but I have this 2112 smacked and ready to go as well and I could brew on Sunday and make a West Coast Lager, the "American Ale" or the blonde I have drawn up.  Then I planned to brew on Wednesday and make a Czech Pilsner with this 2782 which will be ready to use by then.  Three batches in six days?  Am I up to the challenge?!?

EDIT:  I would drop the 2112 batch into a tub of cool water to keep it in the 58-59° range since my lager fridge will have this dark lager in it.

Pete:  Where did you go in Mexico?  Did you run into any narcos?   I'm headed to Aruba on January 26th and I'm counting the days!

We were just north of Playa del Carmen.   Nice place.   Got brave and rented a car one day and road-tripped down to Tulum.  That was pretty neat.  Then stopped and snorkeled in a cenote on the way back.

Nice.  I've been along Riviera Maya twice... once just N. of Playa del Carmen at an AI in Playa Paraiso and another time south of there in Puerto Aventuras.  I like the area a lot but I hate that Cancun airport.  One day we got a guide, driver and all-around buddy for the day and he took us to the Coba ruins and also some cenotes that were really off the map including one that was 60 feet underground.  It was wild.  Then we asked him to take us to a place for lunch that the locals would go to and we went to Tulum to this great little place with fresh seafood.  Also, the weather is always great there.  My son and I went on some dives in Puerto Aventuras and we took a ferry over to Cozumel to hang out.  Mexico is one of the places I can say where the locals have a great, warm and genuine attitude towards guests/visitors/tourists.  My wife and I honeymooned in Acapulco and we've been back twice after that... a different vibe but the people are great.  Nice pics Pete.

Yeah.  I love Mexico.   We try to get down there at least once a year.   Easy flights from DFW.
