The does not compute comment was about the possibility of a child having something that they wouldn't let anybody else touch.  We never allowed that kind of possessiveness in our children.

Oh I'm firmly ensconced in the "One person per computer" camp. When MS started making it so you could add "family" accounts to your "family" computer....I knew that was going to be a huge headache.

Anyway, continuing to look around on this.  I don't know if I want to get the Occulus Go.  It seems like it's more gimmicky for games without 6 degrees of freedom.  Apparently it's really nice for movies/TV though.  If that was the main deal it's probably worth it, but I don't think my kids need a personal movie viewer.  Only 2.5hr battery life too, which kind of sucks.  Apparently, Occulus will release the first standalone 6DOF headset next year.  Maybe next Christmas on that one.  They'll like the Switch, I'm sure.

I do still plan on getting the Rift for the older one since she already has the hardware to run it.

Question 2:  Switch or XBox One S/X for for console?  The kids are 7/10.

Just keep an eye on Best Buy, they usually go on sale for $30. Mario Odyssey is awesome as is Zelda. We have Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. It’s fun but hard.
