Absolutely. I will have the server on this weekend (sat & sun) and anyone is welcome to do what ever they need to catch up. or just ruminate on all the sequences that one goes through in a game.

That's not a problem.

I really like my turtle beach.  It's wireless for use with the xbox.  But a wired PC style is available.  It sounds great.

Sorry guys. Bad night.

Let's get something hard on the books and get ready to kick this thing off.

Indeed. I think we can barely squeak by out of boot camp. LOL But I think we all have the basics down, so it's a matter of honing and developing your character, and I developing and orchestrating the adventure story line.

One thing I have been wondering about, and maybe the group can come to a consensus. Maybe it's not as big of an issue as I'm making it...that is the most like scenario. When a person of the group has to be out for whatever reason, for a session, do they:

  • Jump in and continue where the main group is, as if their virtual character had business in a far away land and caught up with the group
  • Orrr...is there a penalty for missing a session? A friendly "ha ha ok you missed last time so you take a 2 hp hit"

Things will arise that interfere with the schedule and everyone may or may not be on the same page as far as what's going on with their personal schedule. It happens. I myself had to bail in the middle of the game shouting "dog giving birth - gotta go fellas" *click*. LOL So it's understandable that you guys with family may have difficulty making every session, though I would hope that I can make it fun enough that you want to be there... :)

I think that we can adapt. If it's one character irregularly, we can come up with a story reason. If there's a consistent issue, it's just not fair to the rest of the group to continue with that character as an integral part of the story.

However. Like I said...I'm probably making it a bigger deal than it needs to be as usual.

Busco, man I feel bad we didn't get you set up. I think we threw the kitchen sink at it tho. At any rate, I know you are out for the price of the headset but I do have a spare mice here in the lab you are welcomed to. It's not a headset but it's a desk tripod set stand alone mic with a windscreen. It's not the most fabulous, but it would get you going.

LMK and it's yours.

Let me check some things tonight. There's a setting on discord i discovered when I had issues. I'll see if I can put it in words tonight when I look at it.

Does the windows mic test work?

Well, it poses some of the same scenarios which I was proposing.:

Missing Players: How are you going to deal with the
characters of missing players? Consider these options:

✦ Have another player run the missing player’s character.
Don’t do this without the permission of the missing
player. The player running the extra character
should make an effort to keep the character alive
and use resources wisely.

✦ Run the character yourself. Having the DM run the
missing character is extra workload for you, but it
can work. You need to play the character reasonably,
as the missing player would.

✦ Decide the character’s not there. You might be able to
provide a good reason for the character to miss the
adventure, perhaps by having her linger in town.
Make sure you leave a way for the character to
rejoin the party when the player returns, though.

✦ Have the character fade into the background. This solution
requires everyone to step out of the game world
a bit and suspend disbelief, but it’s the easiest solution.
It amounts to hand-waving. You act as if the
character’s not there, but don’t try to come up with
any in-game explanation for his absence. Monsters
don’t attack him, and he returns the favor. When
the player returns, he picks up where the party left
off as if he was never gone.

Just ignore that they aren't there -the game will be fine.  If you want to come up with some in-game narrative why they aren't, even better.  There is no need to over complicate it.
