Okay ladies and gents. We've had a few linkups in a largely unorganized way. We want to get going in actually starting an Adventure with our beloved brews brothers, so we're going to go ahead and start checking off people that have a character built, know how to run the interface AND have voice coms on discord working.

 

Just to be clear, we want to go through a verification step before we start actual play. We'll be asking a lot of questions in our first few sessions anyway, so we want to minimize as many technical issues as possible. 

 

So once we get enough people verified, we'll schedule our first actual session.

My laptop is old and having issues. I have another laptop that is newer, but it has those stupid prongs that stick out of the transformer and one snapped when I accidentally punted it out of the wall socket.

We are all still in boot camp...no shame in that. I have figured out the system for dispersing rewards automatically when you engage encounters, or hidden traps, etc. 

 

I too am stoked. Even though the game play seems slow right now because we are all in boot camp, I am still having a lot of fun and I hope that goes for the rest of the team. Once we get all the basics down...it will get some much ...funner (?). We will then be playing on each other's strong points and weak ones as well...like a real team. And I will get into the storytelling a lot more. 

 

I just hope no one is getting discouraged. I really didn't want to be away this past weekend ... but duty calls.

Ok, awesome - I'll get setup on FG today. I picked up Xanathar's Guide to Everything, which is a great expansion on both the Player's Rulebook and DM guide. Honestly, it's one of the best supplements I've seen for D&D. If anyone needs any additional build options for their class just let me know.

I also added single threads for each major class so people have a nice place to talk about their characters, discuss build options, and general play strategy.

I also accidentally got the DM handbook instead of a Monsters Manuel, but I'm going to keep it. I actually feel kind of bad for not DMing here since I think I have the most experience playing, so I have no problem helping out with any games should it be needed.

Boy. I sure hope I don't disappoint as a DM. Although the way I have the server setup now, it's on it's own separate network and therefore if you ever wanted to DM, or find that I'm just not cutting it, I can give the server credentials to whom ever and they can DM seamlessly.

Dude - please don't withhold comment just because you think I might not take it constructively. I'm having fun. I want everyone to have fun, even if I am not DM material. That's just the way I am. So if, in the course of gaming you have suggestion, comment or critique, please just say it out loud. I'm not going to take my toys and go home.  I'd rather that than everybody talking in pm like, "Damn I wish he'd do this" or "shit does he even adventure?". You know. I'm here for the group.....and the violence.

Haha knowing the group that will be playing my advice will be to really flesh out the local taverns and their NPCs. We'll probably spend a lot of time there lol
