I'm thinking I'll need to make some drez pale ale and do most of my hopping as dry hops so I can try a couple of hop combos.

Have you ever tried keeping the kettle additions to a minimum?

I have a beer that I only do WP and DH with.  It has zero kettle additions.  It has been one of my favorite of this year.

I was thinking of doing bittering (30 min) and just a little bit of flame out with something not too aggressive and then really dry hopping heavily.

I don't really have a good way to split things up for a wp addition that I can think of.

I mis-understood.  You would be splitting a batch to have 2 different hop combos.  I can see doing as you said, 30 minute bitter and something at the end and hit it with a big dry hop to see the character.  That would work out good.
