Is it possible that the drugs were hers? She was the one acting under the influence going to the wrong apartment.

This is looking more and more like a travesty of justice.

I didn't know him, but in a big firm meeting yesterday at the Dallas office, folks who worked with him were very distraught.

I strongly doubt that he was anything but a decent person. Tragedy.
We've set up a fund to help other Caribbean kids education.
He was from there.

... I'd actually want to have a drug test performed on her. Hear me out... If I'm the DA, I'd want to make sure I shouldn't be filing murder charges.

Being high is frequently a justification for the cops killing a person. I’m sure that will be part of the defense case.

The defense, absolutely. Her lawyer's job is to use any angle possible to get avoid a guilty verdict, or at least minimize the punishment.

The real question is the prosecution. Is there a likelyhood that she was there on purpose and that the wrong apartment story is a cover for actual murder.

Well obviously that much would happen. I think the real question is what criminal penalties she sees.

I doubt she is convicted of anything.  I also suspect she will be a police officer again.

I would say outrage is justifiable if that happens.

She'll probably be hired as President of Police, or King of Police, whichever one conveys FTP more clearly.

If she's not indicted, she'll show up on the roster of another town in the DFW metro area within a year.  Likely Mesquite.  If she is indicted but not convicted, she'll be a cop in one of the outlying towns.  If convicted, I doubt she serves the entire sentence whatever that is.  A year, two tops.

Oh it is definitely that shit again.  And again, and again, and again.  And people wonder why black men are afraid of cops.

Its not a racial thing, they executed that white guy in the hotel hallway I posted up a while back.  They had him face down on the floor hands behind head crying, he was completely subdued and available to be safely cuffed (mind you he hadn't actually committed a crime) if they walked forward a few feet.  The highly escalated situation by the barking sergeant (who had already said he was going to die if he didn't follow his exact commands) then demanded he start crawling towards them again and when he tried to tug up his shorts they lit him up.

Right.  I have brought up the case of Daniel Shaver.  Why were there no protests over this?  Why was the town of Mesa pretty much silent?  Want to know who was the most vocal group about Daniel Shaver?  Black lives matter.

What should we protest? Everyone agrees this was an awful thing, no?

What if this is an honest (yes tragic) mistake?

What if she was a citizen?

What If I made the same mistake, got off on the wrong floor and thought somebody was in my apartment?

Would it make a difference, if so who and why?

It has been quite a few years, but there was a story of a Japanese exchange student went to the wrong address (looking for a Halloween party) the owner felt threatened , shouted halt, the student di not understand, advanced and got shot and killed.

This one is not so clear to me. To some, the fact that she was white and he is black is important. Unless we have evidence, what are we willing to assume?

so the reason BLM protests shootings is because they don't agree they're awful?

The fact that the cop was found not guilty.  And he was overwhelmingly supported by police.
