She could only manage 50% accuracy from across a typical living room (I'd guess)? That is terrible.
Well she was probably wasted.

Who gets wasted before you get home?

Uhhhh... Like everybody with a day job?
I wait until I am home to drink, much cheaper; also makes me less apt to enter someone's house and murder them.

Then have a few drinks, walk into a “wrong apartment” and kill an intruder. What if I drink both at home and going out? Own a couple guns. And don’t want to murder people?

I think I'd she was out drinking after her shift that would have been leaked by now. She is going to use the excuse that she was over worked (12 hour shift).

the police already came out and said he refused to follow commands. They are also making a point to say his door was unlocked. They are spinning this to make it his faultShe probably feared for her life.

I'm in favor of guns. I'm in favor of conceal carry. I also think people shoot far more than necessary. I know she's a cop or whatever, but even in my own house (assuming I know my wife and kid aren't there) if I open the door and see someone in there, I leave immediately. Sure, if I was carrying, I could probably kill that person...but why? Because he's a thief? Death penalty not warranted IMO. Maybe he is a killer, but then are my odds better to fight it out with guns/weapons, or are my odds better to turn an run? The only reason to stay is ego. And her ego got someone killed.

Lol. Refused to follow commands.
She may have. That doesn't much matter when she put herself in that situation, though.
If the door being ajar thing is true, it's definitely another layer.
It really doesn't sound as if they are trying to justify her actions to me. More trying to explain how on earth she could do something so incredibly stupid and irresponsible.

I think she is actually the one claiming he did not comply with her verbal commands. Which means she knows the official post shooting language.

They are now saying that some reports on social media that they knew each other are inaccurate; there was a pic of him on Instagram with some chick who looks a lot like the cop, but turns out not to be. On the other hand, one of the neighbors in the building is saying they heard pounding on a door and a female voice shouting "let me in, let me in" before the shooting, which doesn't totally add up with the "door was ajar" thing (or maybe it's completely unrelated.) Seems like something doesn't totally add up.
