Transferred 600ml of my starter into a Mason jar so I could crash the starter to brew tomorrow.  In about 12 uncovered seconds a damn fruit fly dive bombed into the flask. <_< .  At least I have the 600ml from the mother.......  Used my backup US-05 a few weeks ago when I was lazy. No yeast unless I harvest from the conical.

I guess the banner tomato harvest is coming back to bite me.  Better than ruining a 10 gallon batch.

Feckers. They are really bad this time of year... apples, tomatoes, etc.

They have acetobacter on their feet.  Malt vinegar is a certainty.  I would rather dump < 3L than 10 gallons.  I've only had one other starter ruined and it was pretty obvious when I got ready to pitch it.

I don't remember what I did that day.  Guessing I had some US-05 on hand.
