One reason I like this story is because a keg of pils was consumed until it was empty.   The other reason I like it is because I agree the beer sounds lovely and if I had encountered more varied beers like this one maybe I'd run into fewer Citra bombs.  :D  I'd love to see the recipe too.

it's definitely not but cascade doesn't seem to be as popular as it once was.  people don't seem as interested in it anymore.  I still like it but there are just so many hops out there it's hard to come back to it.

Well, I dunno.  Until this year, Cascade was #1.  AFAIK, it's still #2.

Maybe used but not really used to push a beer. I see beers that will prominently let you know they have citra, Simcoe, Galaxy, Mosaic, etc but not really Cascade. It's not "cool" anymore. When I started Homebrewing a decade ago people were still interested in the grapefruit flavor you get from Cascade but now not so much.

I was surprised by this and then did some research.  Hmm the more you know!

Cascade continued its 5-year streak as the most in-demand Pacific Northwest hop variety, followed by Centennial, Citra, Simcoe, Zeus and Mosaic.

Ya know, I was just talking about this both with the farmers in Yakima and on the podcast.  You didn't have to go to all that work!  ;)

BTW, I'll tell everybody roight now that there's some special stuff planned for Hop and Brew School next year to coincide with our 100th podcast.  Put Yakima in the last week of Aug. on your calendars!

I'm glad to see Cascade relatively cheap.  I still like to use it.  But, I have to ask what is #1?
