I guess I will find out this weekend.  Still plan to add a motor and foot switch but will give it a test run over the weekend.  Just another toy ...

Hell yeah! It has definitely been a thought of mine. Will it do all sizes of cans?

12oz and 16oz as set up.  I have 12oz cans coming in tomorrow.  You can see washer under the "puck" the can is sitting on, those are what you change to get the other size can.

What do those go for?

About this much .. I paid a bit less.

can it can steel food cans?

No clue.  But I assume it would need different dies and spacers.

With what I have planned ... much less.

I'll be interested to hear how it works out.  if there was a way to fill cans from a keg with minimal or no O2 pickup that would be so freakin' awesome.

did you get to use one of those ebay coupons?  I hope so!  that would be a pretty good savings.

also - if you go mobile you are welcome to come to my house sometime and leave with some homebrew :D

Man! That's kind of expensive, though I know not nearly as expensive as some of the other ones I've seen. I would love to can by beers, but I guess I'm just going to stick with the keg and growler set up for now!  :P

It was a wash for me as I sold off stuff from one hobby to pay for this. The price for entry is up there though but I have several local homebrewers looking for canning services so this may make me a few bucks.

Some are more into the $1500 range.  Drez, I would like to know how it works for you and also how you plan to do it.  The one other person I know with one (you know who it is) has an O2-purging setup along with it (IIRC) so that the beer is going into the can while the can is purged with CO2... I believe.  I have zero interest in doing this myself but I would be interested in seeing how you go about it.

Yes, the Oktober version is more but I like some features of this better. I will add a motor so it will be pretty automatic once the can is placed on. My cans came in Saturday but I have not had any free time to play with it yet. I hope to do some test fills this week.

Had this kicking around from an old grain mill project and once I add a capacitor it should work perfect

Did some water canning over the weekend to test it out and it got a thumbs up.  Pretty cool to watch it work.  May have to can up some crown and coke and see how that comes out :)
