It's almost here. There's a little renewed hope on The Hill with the new coach. We're coming off the worst season in our history. I along with many other fans are just hoping for a bowl bid even if it is lower tier. Gone are the days of the "brick by brick" and "5 star hearts" cliches. It appears we have a football coach. We may line up in an I formation for a change and run downhill. I'm embracing it.

If I were to do a playoff scenario it would be this:

1. Bama

2. Clemson

3. OU

4. PSU?

I'm torn on the 4th spot. tOSU may rally behind UM and all the turmoil but I think it's possible the Nittany Lions may win the B10. I do believe the Pac-12 may get left out again. I would place UGA in the 5th spot.

The thing with Bama is they have been tough to beat even with mediocre QB play and if Tua turns out to be "all that" them rat bastards will be an even tougher out.

We open at a neutral site (Charlotte) with WV and it's not a good matchup for us week 1. We have a 5 game stretch that includes UF, @ UGA, @ Auburn, Bama, @ SC (who has a bye week while we play Bama) before they play us. It will be a test of willpower and what I believe will show the new coaching staff's worth.

I'm ready, lets knock some heads.

This season shouldn’t mean a whole lot to VolNation. First season under new coaches and all, will take at least 2-3 before they exercise the previous regime demons from the program

Ftr I agree on bama and Clemson, I think Badgers have better odds than OU, not sure who the fourth will be, probably a pac12 team

Yeah I forgot Saquon Barkley is no longer there. I may have to re-choose my B10 champ.

I think wolverines have one of the toughest pre season schedules, if they can come thru clean they’ll be in the B1G champ game

UGA plays Auburn but I think other than that game they can win the rest. Kirby has recruited very well there and they are deep. If they were to play Bama in the SECCG and lose a close one could they still get in? Very possible. UGA is about to become a juggernaut. They have all the talent they need within the state.

Hell, I'd be tickled over an Outback Bowl invite. This decade of crap has been rough.

VolFan, I may make the run up for our game this year.

Let me know if ya do. I went to the game a few years back and it was brutal. I will never attend a game where it's that hot. Never.

You are welcome to watch it in the man cave if you so desire.

Will do and appreciate the offer.  :frank:

ETA:  Speaking of hot, Jr's first game was the game where Joey Kent was laid out by Lawrence Wright late in the first.  That was incredibly hot and we left at the half because he was miserable.  Not the hottest I've been to, but damn close.  USF about eight years ago was the worst.

I'm not doing it again. I was at the UCLA game in '91 when it was 115 on the field (artificial turf). I swore then never again but after the UF game 2 yrs ago I had forgotten the misery. I was quickly reminded of feck this.

I love being there as much as the next guy, but not when it's 95+. I'm a {|}.

Badgers wide receiver likely to be out.  Suspended at least.  Rape charges pending for Quintez Cephus.

He's done.  I thought these big time players were supposed to have handlers to help keep them in control.

Still looking for a good season from the Badgers.  What happens in the B1G Conference Title Game is unknown.  But, it could be a good year for Bucky.

It should be interesting for my team. Offense should be pretty good since we're returning 2 capable QBs (hopefully one separates themselves), pretty good running backs, good offensive line (all 5 return with lots of experience), receivers are questionable. Defense lost a lot up front so we'll see. I'm thinking somewhere in the ball park of 8 wins. Not spectacular, but we don't exactly recruit 5 star players, so unless the stars align we usually have limitations.

A good litmus test early in week 2. We face Mississippi State, which according to various sources should have a great defense and overall a pretty good team. We win that, I'll raise my expectations a little.
