A promotional image from the sixth film in the Terminator series shows actress Linda Hamilton back in her signature role as the indomitable Sarah Connor.

Hamilton is joined by Colombian actress Natalia Reyes and Canada's Mackenzie Davis, star of recent release Tully.

Markings on Davis's body seem to imply she is one of the futuristic androids around which the franchise revolves.

What is it with fecking up remakes these days? Didn't they see what a massive flop the all female Ghostbusters was?

I actually somewhat agree but I should point out that the all female Ghostbusters made 229 million dollars on a budget of 145 million. Hardly a flop. Chicks will go see it.

It's not a remake. Also:

Arnold Schwarzenegger also appears in Tim Miller's currently untitled film, due in cinemas in November 2019.

Arnold has a cameo where he uses his walker to chase his Messican housekeeper around the room?

IV was ~ok~ in that it only was slightly related to the rest of the franchise.  V was actually somewhat decent as a stand-alone movie if you'd only seen 1&2 (its worth your time if you're surfing and see it on but not worth paying for)

I think the rule of thumb ( or used to be) is that you had to double the budget to include all advertising, post production, press junkets, etc to break even.

It may not be that way anymore, not sure..

This seems fine. There was already a female Terminator in one of the other movies.

I know he's iconic, but Arnold is getting a bit on in years to keep doing this role.

yup, that's why his cameo in Genesys was good, they accounted for the aging and etc and it came across like it was ahnolds last hurrah as the Terminator

In keeping with the 'XX washing' theme, he should play it as a lady.

It’s my understanding they factor that all into budget. If the budget is X and they make X + $, it’s technically profit. I’ve seen the money broken out into pre-shoot, shoot, and post-shoot, and that was the budget.

Like I said, it may have changed over the last 20 years or so.

They used to not add any post-production advertising in the reported budget and I was always surprised at how much it cost after the movie was actually made. Even the industry publications would focus on whether a movie would be in black after passing the initial budget costs and cited the 'double the budget' approach.

We were still handling film on platter systems back then too.
