A buddy of mine has this electric BIAB setup that was totally trashed. He asked me if I could help him fix it. After looking it over I decided that a total rebuild with lots of new replacement parts would be the best bet. Its about 95% done now with just labeling to be done and waiting on the new heater element. The original setup had a box in a box, I used the exterior box as the new enclosure for the system making a lot more room. Why it was in a box in a box Ill never understand as it got super hot, a few of the wires had some melting.
The old PID did not have a boil function so the original setup had a separate boil control. I put in a new PID that has both MASH and BOIL functions but still installed the old boil control for a backup in the event the PID ever goes down during a brew.
