America’s greatest songwriter is approaching the pantheon. Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Dwight Yoakum, Lucinda William et al will welcome him to the temple of greatness.

Here is an old but goody from when him and his wife were members of America’s Greatest rock band.

Seriously? Has rock gotten so bad, that's the best America can offer?

Ok, at best. Not English. ...

I’ve been getting ducked out of concerts at work lately. Had a ticket in-hand to see him at Hershey, and a meeting got called out of state. Also got ####ed going to see the truckers at state college.

I need to buckle down and commit to seeing some concerts. Last one was Sturgill, and that was almost two years ago.

I’ve seen Isbell in concert twice. Hoping to go again this fall

Amazing songwriter - my personal fave. Southeastern is an absolute masterpiece

Nashville Sound is pretty amazing as well

The only person writing songs as good and for as long as John Prine is John Hiatt.  The rest get participation trophies.

Also, grassroots last summer ;)

Jason is super talented! I’ve seen him a bunch. He is coming to CMAC next Friday, I might go.

Yeah. Songwriter and singer. Also didn’t realize until I saw him in concert what a badass guitarist he is

Coming from some one who does Buffet covers, this can safely be dismissed.

Much respect for both those gentlemen, and I think Prine has been doing some work with Amanda Shires (Isbell’s wife).

That said, you can stfu with that kind of talk, onion-belt!

Not really any more, and usually just his early stuff, which is more on par with Jerry Jeff and the like

But yes. Nice zing

Worth noting that Hiatt used to be in Buffett’s band, though
