The daughter's U-10 softball is freaking ridiculous.  The coaches ask them to be there at 5:30 for 6:00 games (note:  the coaches have yet to show up at 5:30) then they play until after 8:00.  The game last night went until 8:45.  Honestly, WTF is this?  Over 3 hours on a school night for a 9-yo softball game?  Who has time for this shit?

The son is excited about trying cub scouts.  I can deal with that.

Oh man.  Let us know how being a den leader goes.  Get measured for the brown shirt.

Cub scout season is aug-may. Weekly den meetings, monthly pack meetings and typically 1 or 2 weekend activities per month. Plus you get to sell popcorn.

I found scouts to be much more of an impact on time. Part of it was the entire academic year. If it was 6-10 weeks like youth sports it would have been fine.

I travel too much to be a den leader or a sports coach.

That's what one father said in our pack. He's a den leader now.

I got suckered into the cubmaster though...
