A guy I work with just snagged a bunch of beer from Tree House and gave me some. I've read a lot of reviews but haven't tasted any of their beers yet. Unfortunately, Julius wasn't available the day he went but 4 beers were. I'm not expecting revelatory beer but I hope I'm not disappointed either.

I believe drez is our local Tree House guy, but the handful of beers I've had from them were outstanding and I'll be standing in line there at the end of May to get whatever beer they have on sale then

TH is the NEIPA. The beers are good although I am not a huge Julios fan. I don't get them often because I am not a huge line fan anymore but if you enjoy the hazy, low bitterness juice-bomb you should like them. Also, with no idea of the beers that came out of the past TH breweries you will not have to play the "it was better from Monson" game.

Murphy, when will you be up this way?

I got 2 cans each of Ma, Green, Curiosity Forty Six and Bright w/Citra. I may be able to grab more depending on who else wants some. Most rate around 4.5 on Untappd.

Bright/Citra and Green are two of my favorites. The bright uses a "clean" yeast, presumably Chico, while Green will have the TH "house" blend.

well, I am trying to work my way out of one of those dinners which is with a person from a lab we are doing work with.  the other dinner is with my sister and BIL so hopefully that one doesn't get canceled.

I'll keep you and the other Bostonians posted should I be able to weasel my way out and free up an evening.

Has Julius changed from what you sent me or did your tastes change?

Yes to both. It is a fine beer but I just like others now more. I also find they are having a hard time dialing it in on the bigger system and I am still irratated by the 8/24/2017 batch I got that poured clear and had a weird vegatal aftertaste.

Ouch. One bad batch can really sour you on a beer, I know that. Clearly that date lives in infamy! Too bad it had changed, the can you sent me was delightful.

I would suggest getting your hands on some jack's abby beers.  they do all lagers (including IPLs).  their stuff is so good.

it's in framingham on your way out of boston so it would be pretty easy to hit up on your way to treehouse.

check it:

The Springdale stuff from Jack's is great. Exhibit A and mystic are doing great beers too. If you make it further west try Vanished Valley.

I haven't had any of that stuff.  sounds good though.

I've just had a lot of their IPLs.  hoponius union, hoponius on holiday, excess.  not sure if I've had their other stuff but the selection of styles is pretty impressive.

The Mystic IPA's are some of the best in the world. Springdale is great and better than Exhibit A who I do like but they all have some slight off taste to me.
