NCAA
If you fair catch a kickoff inside the 25 you get the ball on the 25. This will impact tOSU, they would try to kick it to the corner and have it land inside the 5. I assume next year they will kick it out of the end zone to prevent a return

I’d like them to get rid of fair catches so there are more high speed, violent tackles. Football is getting weak. Quarterbacks in dresses, etc

Kickoffs will probably be gone from football in the next 5-10 years. Pro and college .

I like the idea of replacing the kickoff formation with a punt formation.

Are punts that much safer than kickoffs?

I think that kickoff will be eliminated. Punts will not allow a return. So on a punt to could down it inside the 10

that what I see, you lose the onside kick and the excitement of a long return

The speed of the coverage team is significantly lessened by the line of scrimmage contact.

That new Spring league will not have kickoffs. To replace the onside kick, teams will have the option for a "4th and 10" play from their own 35 yard line.

That's one less specialist on the roster. I'll guess most major conference teams have a bunch of guys who can kick that far based on athleticism alone.

XFL did this. They had to scrum for it instead of a kickoff too, iirc.

That was only in lieu of a coin toss to see who got possession first.  From there on, after a TD/FG, it was a kickoff.  I remember Rod "He Hate Me" Smart covering the very first scrum.  I was all  "WTF did I just see?"

Did they accurately size their stories?
