I saw online that I could get silicone tubing (from AustinHombrew.com) and it said it was inert. I'm kinda tired of using Vinyl tubing because it usually either absorbs the smells of whatever is passing through it or clouds up when I clean it. Will using silicone, being inert, solve the smell absorption problem?

I have a few lengths of silicon tubing I like to use. No smells, but it absorbs color - hop green and wort brown - pretty darn well.It's cheaper at McMaster: https://www.mcmaster.com/#51135K79

I am a huge proponent of silicon tubing. I've used the same set for around 3 years now, at least, and it is still working great for me. It is definitely colored now, but that doesn't worry me as I heat sanitize it with boiling wort going through it for 15 minutes - try doing that with vinyl.Also, Austin Homebrew sells thick walled silicon tubing, so if you are looking at mcmaster, make sure you find the right one, the one linked above is for thin walled, which can kink easier than the thick walled stuff.I have bought replacement tubing recently, but still haven't used it since my current tubing still works so well for me.

you might want to try eBay too. I was able to get 50 feet for around $40 IIRC. It was the thick walled stuff too, more sturdy than the more expensive tubing from B3
