Picked one of these up for my EHLT. For a 240v 50a SS element off Amazon it was around $20. I received it and it seems to be more polished than the SS version I paid much more for at BrewHardware. Does anyone use this brand and if so how is it holding up? I’m more worried about rusting like my previous non SS lime free hot water tank element I was using.

Cheers.

I have 2 or 3 and they work great. I think the oldest is about 1.5years old with zero issues.

Sounds good. It may of been you that made the suggestion. I will see how it goes in the EHLT. I think it will be fine being exposed to just water and not wort. Just need to remember that it could blow if dry fired. If this lasts that would be awesome. Hoping I’m not regretting not getting the more expensive versions from BH.
Oh, one other question. It came with a clear, what seems to be made from silicone, seal. Do you use that seal? Any issues if you do?

I have one and when I went to install it the threads seemed too loose. It threaded in very easy and loose compared to the Camco ones. I used the clear seal and didn't trust that it got very tight. It now sits on a shelf. I suppose I should email Dernord or something. I recently got one of their weldless bulkheads and had similar thread issues.

I noticed loose threads as well. I did get it pretty tight with the supplied seal. I'm going to try it and see what happens. None of the reviewers that use them for brewing complained about leaking. I guess that's why we built breakers in the panel and a main GFCI for moments like this....   :o

Mine came with a different gasket and was not loose. Maybe I got lucky a while back.

I just did not feel comfortable when I tightened it. I feel like I got it tight as I could but it didn't take much to loosen it again. And as soon as it became loose it was really sloppy. I pictured a whole batch starting to gush on the floor.

I’m going to use mine in the EHLT so all I would loose is some water.

I can't wait to do something like this. A gravity fed eHLT would be the shizz.

I built a single tier 3 vessel and of course that means 2 pumps for my preferred fly sparring. That setup is to complex for most but it allows so much freedom for other techniques.
