So, it should have been done a couple months ago. There's a nice ice buildup where the coolant lines are and a couple kegs are almost in contact with it. An Alt is, and has been, in direct contact with the ice.It seems to have gotten quite a bit better lately but guess I'm getting older. This second keg of the batch.........
Will this be a problem?

I hear ya. Mine needs a good defrost too. The ice is about 4 or 5 inches thick. Some of the lines have been gobbled up by it. Only problem is, how the hell can I draw a cold one and defrost at the same time? I might need to suffer for a couple days

Probably sounds obvious but why not if you can move your kegs to another freezer, open up the kegerator, let it warm up and then you can put the kegs back in and be ready to roll. I would think it would only take a few hours to complete. Another idea if you have picnic taps just make an ice bath for the kegs and put them in there while you warm up and defrost your kegerator. I have one of my freezers that I chill beers down with and store hops as well that needs to be defrosted. Good Luck none the less.

I had to do this on my spare fridge. I know that's not the same, but I could barely get my 3 kegs in there because the ice built up. Just turn the temp higher (maybe 38-40°) overnight and all the next day while you're at work and most of it will melt. Then you can turn it back down again.I'll take this moment to bring up something very stupid that I did... my draft fridge is just a half-height fridge with the plastic capillaries that run down the back of the fridge. When ice built up on that, I decided to try to knock it off/pry it off with a screwdriver and accidentally punctured one of the capillaries. Fridge, RIP. I was told that sort of thing cannot be repaired easily and a new fridge would be cheaper. Oh, the humanity.
