My brew club has appointed me as "Program Director". Basically, find entertainment and educational things for the club to do. The club has been around since the early 80s, and within the last year or so, has been a movement to become more then just a drunken free for all once a month.
My next meeting is tomorrow, and i have a pro brewer who is a friend of mine to speak, mostly about a new sour beer brewery he's opening, some Q and A, etc.
Some of the ideas to present are spiking bud light bottles with single hops to get a flavor profile, getting a BJCP judge to speak to the club, organizing a local sanctioned BJCP competition, a local brewery crawl, and setting up monthly style competitions.
Anybody else have ideas that are fun, educational activities for a brew club?

Need some brew club activity ideas

Our club tries to incorporate different things as much as possible
Beer of the month contest (who ever has beer ready of course). Talley the score at the end of the year.
Group brew. We have a 15 gallon barrel and just bottled a Wee Heavy out of it. Sell the beers back to the club, pays for the ingredients, fills the club kitty.
Each month we try and pair a club member's beer to a commercial example and taste them side by side.
We're planning a picnic, kickball and doing a batch of beer.
Brewery field trips

Beer of the month is a good idea.
